Gender Expansive Safer Sex

I love following this TransHealth blog, and I am currently working with an at home lab testing company to improve their inclusivity for our LGBTQ community- which brings me to the Gender Expansive Safer Sex Guide posted back in February by TransHealth.   This guide hits the mark!   Some of it is a little Trans 101, but I really appreciate the chart with sex practices and STI risks on page 12:

Get sexy more safely by understanding what sexual practices carry what risks!  Many doctors forget to ask how we have sex, so when we ask for STD, or STI testing, they use a “one-size-fits-all” approach.  “One-size” DOES NOT fit all no matter your genitals, gender identity, or sexual orientation.  The CDC and Infectious Disease specialists recommend site specific screening for gonorrhea and chlamydia- that means to test for these a swab should be collected from each “site” of your body where genitals have had contact (mouth, anus, vagina, and/or a urine sample from a penis).   I started QueerDoc in part because I do not want my community to have educate their doctors.  QueerDoc provides STD/STI Testing services.   Do a video or phone consult with me where we discuss your sexual practices and risk factors, then I provide lab orders for one year’s worth of testing.  Additionally, any prescriptions for treatment will be addressed as well.   QueerDoc- culturally competent, evidenced-based healthcare for queers by a queer!
