There is no regular session in 2024: new bills will not be filed unless a special legislative session is called.
The Montana State Legislature meets for regular session in odd-numbered years. Special sessions may be called by the governor or by a majority of the legislature themselves.
A youth care ban was passed and signed into law in Montana in 2023. An injunction is currently in place blocking enforcement of the ban. We see both youth and adults in Montana.
December 18, 2024 update: Montana State District Court blocked the enforcement of Montana’s ban on gender marker changes on birth certificates and driver’s licenses.
December 11, 2024 update: the Montana Supreme Court upheld the injunction on SB 99. Youth can continue to receive care in Montana.
