We don’t take insurance for appointments at QueerDoc. All of our appointments are paid on a sliding scale that doesn’t require qualification. You can learn more about our sliding scale here. You can use an FSA or HSA account to pay for appointments. You may be able to get reimbursement for part of the cost of visits if your insurance plans include out-of-network reimbursement. You can use your insurance for your prescriptions and labs in most states. We also partner nationally with Point of Pride for scholarship-based care and TransSocial in Florida.
Who Takes Insurance for Gender Affirming Care?

We don’t take insurance at QueerDoc because it allows us to keep administrators and investors out of your healthcare. We believe the only people who should be involved in making healthcare decisions about your body are YOU and your trusted clinicians. You can learn more about the effects of private equity in healthcare here. You can also learn more about how the administrative burden of health insurance has affected healthcare costs in this phenomenal article by Mother Jones. Our team is entirely trans or queer with no investors, so all of the money you spend with QueerDoc supports others in our communities. We don’t strive to profit from healthcare, but we do strive to pay our team well. We are a small business, but we have chosen to give employees unlimited PTO, vision, dental, and health insurance, as well as a small contribution to retirement accounts. How often do you see businesses with fewer than 10 team members do that? If you still want to learn more, book your free introductory session now with QueerDoc.
