Therapy can be hard to find, and expensive, especially when you are 2sLGBTQIA+! Here are some new and already known-to-us resources that are super shiny and not necessarily restricted to the states we practice in. We haven’t vetted individual providers linked here, so these links are not recommendations or referrals. The first two organizations here have financial support programs.
Stand With Trans
Stand With Trans is a Michigan-based organization offering some great programs for trans youth and their parents. While some of their programs are only available to Michigan families, they also run a grant-supported therapy assistance program for trans and nonbinary youth ages 13-24 in the California Bay Area, Michigan, Utah, Wyoming, and Florida. (Note: we at QueerDoc have not vetted individual members of Stand With Trans.)
The Stand With Trans Therapy Assistance Program:
- is income-based and families must apply
- pairs youth with affirming therapists
- pays the therapy providers directly via grants
Stand With Trans also supports:
- The Banned Books Club, a zoom-based book club reading books by queer and trans authors
- Training programs for businesses and organizations.
- The Trans Lifeline Library: an online resource catalog (note: binary language used)
- Local programs and workshops
- Ally Parents (scroll down on the page to see info) – a group of volunteer parents across the U.S.A. who have a transgender child and are available to be a caring listener to trans and nonbinary youth and their families.
National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network

(Note: we at QueerDoc have not vetted individual members of the NCTTCN.)
