NOTE: Daylight Bank ceased operations in June, 2023.
We have been talking all about financial wellness in this blog series. We heard about challenges unique to the LGBTQ+ community from KB Bjerk (they/them) and solutions for them from Lindsey Young (she/her) at Quiet Wealth. Last week we reviewed important documents for LGBTQ+ identified people to secure medical and financial protections. This week we would like to introduce you to Daylight, where they are queering banking for the better. Daylight is the first LGBTQ+ owned, operated, and focused banking service.
“For Daylight, it’s more than just slapping a rainbow on a card. It’s about personal wins, set and met goals, and the success of the community around us.”
LGBTQ+ millennials started Daylight to solve problems they regularly experienced. They want to help their LGBTQ+ community gain financial health. Daylight offers banking with transparent values, making it easier for you to keep money in our communities. They also offer financial education and live coaches who can help you manage your finances better. They offer guides relevant to queer folks, including information on surrogacies, negotiating your salary, paying down debt, realistic financial goals for Gen Z and Millennials, and finding financing that meets your needs. You can learn more from their magazine.
QueerDoc has partnered with Daylight. We do not earn any money from this partnership, but we do offer cashback rewards to patients who pay with their Daylight debit card! We don’t endorse Daylight in any way other than we think it is cool to see a bank focused on LGBTQ+ customers and communities like us.
