I love this job! As a super queer person, getting to spend time serving my queer community everyday brings me so much joy. Also, what I get to do is just pretty darn fun! Curious about a week in the life of a queer doctor? Well checkout the schedule this week:
Monday– Share about QueerDoc with a person just coming out
Wednesday– Participate in a podcast to improve awareness of gender diverse health issues in the mid west
Friday– Volunteer at a gender bending celebration of diversity and performance art, ECHO
Saturday–
- Volunteer (potentially) at Ingersoll’s Trans Resource Fair to write MD letters for gender marker change
- Work with amazingly courageous patients
- Attend my friend’s show “Thriving While Trans”
Queer doctor life at its best! I started QueerDoc to raise the bar on gender affirming care. I am a queer, gender diverse physician, and I love this work. My dream is for QueerDoc to grow to offer services to people living in, not only, Washington and Alaska, but also Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and California. One step at a time, I hope to get there. In the meantime, I get to be of service to my beloved queer community and have some fun while doing it!
