Changes in Sliding Scale

QueerDoc’s mission and passion is to increase access to gender affirming care for everyone! We use video visits and sliding scale to make this happen. Our pricing is clear and transparent with no surprise bills later. We offer sliding scale to anyone who wants it, no income documentation required.

This year we are increasing the upper limit of our sliding scale to give people who have more financial resources the chance to support people who have less.

Our previous sliding scale upper limit represents the cost of the service we provide. With adult gender health initial consult pricing of $50-$300 and follow-ups $25-$150. If we were billing insurance the pricing would be about $700 for an initial intake and about $400 for a follow-up. By not billing insurance, we are able to offer sliding scale to everyone and set out own rates (federal regulations would prohibit this if we took any insurance). Not billing insurance also allows:

  • our providers to spend more time with each individual patient
  • our providers to focus on the relationship and care of each individual patient
  • our patients to have direct access to their provider (no middle people, staff, nurses, etc)

Don’t worry, the lower end of our sliding scale is NOT changing!

We are only increasing our upper limit of our sliding scale in order to create a more financially sustainable practice. We want to be able to provide expert, individualized, affirming care for YEARS to come. Our new sliding scale is:
