A Week in the Life

I love using this blog to share educational content and LGBTQ advocacy. I also love using this blog to share stuff about myself that may help potential patients feel safer before they even meet me! That is why I am so out as a queer provider. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t talk about my queerness at your visit (except pronouns). Your visit is for you. I chose to share some of me here in case you want a preview and to hopefully help create a safe and therapeutic space!

So what does my week look like?

  • Monday: clinic and adminstrative time for Alaska patients
  • Tuesday: clinic and adminstrative time for Washington patients
  • Wednesday and Thursdays: work as an employee at a clinic for people with substance use disorders
  • Friday: headed on vacation with my queer family

Mondays and Tuesdays I usually engage in some community support groups and some physical activity. Wednesday and Thursdays my clinic days are longer, so I prioritize spending time with my pup, cooking food, journaling, and getting to bed on time. Usually, on Fridays I have some QueerDoc clinic openings, but I do often set aside this time for my own appointments and such. I also have QueerDoc clinic openings the first Saturday of the month and Alaska queer medicine clinic openings the third Saturday of the month. I generally fit in some more physical activity, social time, and family time Fridays, Saturdays, adn Sundays as well. Being an online doctor, I am always striving to balance availability to my patients and time to meet my own needs. To be able to offer my patients my best, I have to take care of myself, too!

NO one wants a HANGRY doctor!
