March 23-29, 2020
LGBT people continue to have health disparities relative to their non queer peers. We experience more trauma, more domestic violence, more mental health disorders, and more substance use disorders. We are more likely to be unhoused and have decreased access to healthcare. We are also more likely to experience discrimination and/or uneducated providers when seeking healthcare. Add any kind of intersectionality on and it gets WORSE.
QueerDoc is HERE. We are BY QUEERS, FOR QUEERS!
We have personally experienced some of these disparities. We have dedicated ourselves professionally to closing these gaps. QueerDoc exists because we were tired of hearing all of our friends stories about crappy healthcare.
We want to raise the bar in LGBTQ healthcare.
We provide:
- expert
- individualized
- culturally humble
- accessible
LGBTQ medical care for individuals. We also:
- teach other professionals how to care for LGBTQ people
- advocate for expanded LGBTQ healthcare coverage and rights
- volunteer within our community offering free gender marker change letters
- LIVE OUT LOUD AS QUEER HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
